Laptop TBird will not access email in windstream but will in gMail. Same TBird settings work fine on desktop.
I installed Windows 10 on both my daughter's laptop and mine. I then installed the same TBird series (60.3.2) as we have on our computers to each laptop. Gmail is easily accessible but not Windstream email, even though I can access Windstream webmail with no problem.
My desktop computer has Windows 7, no problem at all. Her computer is Windows 10, no problem. However, neither laptop, HP Stream 13, TBird program can access email. Here are the error messages:
Login to server pop3.valornet.comwith username failed. Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop3.valornet.com responded: Auth-status: invalid login or password. Connection to server pop3.valornet.com was reset. Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop3.valornet.com responded: Auth-Status: Invalid login or password. Error with account of....
The settings are the identical as on our desktops, and TBird worked fine until I installed Windows 10. Very frustrating. I even changed passwords. Desktop computers are still OK, but laptops will not access email.
What is the problem? I disabled antivirus and there was no change.

I found that the old Valornet email address is on a different server and that it is antiquated. Windstream wants everyone to migrate to the new windstream.com server. They do not encourage using the old address. Fortunately, when I changed my account to the new address, I was able to keep my old screen name and found that all of my Valornet server email was automatically downloaded to the new windstream.com account. That makes it much better, so I have time to migrate all of my business and personal contacts to my new account before terminating old account.
