Are you talking about the 'Quick filter bar' ?

  • 'Menu icon (3 lines)' > 'Options' > select 'Quick Filter Bar'

This can also be quickly added/hidden by putting the 'Quick filter' button on the 'Mail Toolbar'.

  • 'Menu icon (3 lines)' > 'Options' > select 'Toolbar Layout'

A 'Customise toolbar' window opens.

  • Drag the 'Quick Filter' button onto the toolbar'
  • click on 'Done' to close window.
