I am using Thunderbird 60.6.1 and Firefox 66.0.5 winth Windows 10

I find that when I click on a link in Firefox to a mailto link that Thunderbird opens the compose window but there is no Email address in the to line.

If the mailto link includes a subject then that is carried into the compose window but the Email address remains missing.

I have gone through the process of resetting the mailto defaults in the Windows 10 settings to no effect. I have checked the Windows registry and there is a key which reads:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command

With the value: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -osint -compose "%1"

I have tried removing the osint switch but that makes no difference.

I'm stuck trying to work out what to do.

Does anyone have an idea...?

Andrew

try disabling all your add-ons after you restart from the help menu and see if you still have a problem. I have not seen any other reports, I am not seeing this on Windows 10.

Thanks Matt... As soon as you said to disable add-ons I nearly swore. Of course that is the first thing to try when diagnosing a problem.

It was, indeed, an add-on causing the problem. Sadly, it is an add-on I use very frequently but at least I know where to go from here. Many thanks.

What add-on? always good to know which are having issues. Also helps those that google the same thing.

The errant add-on was Signature Switch from http://mozext.achimonline.de/

There is a new version in beta for beta versions of Thunderbird.

Rather than wait for this I've taken a different approach to switching signatures using identities.
