The images should show up on Firefox's downloads list. Tap the menu button, then Tools, then Downloads.
Now... figuring out where they are after that could be a bit tricky. If you open an image from the list, does the application displaying the image let you see the path?
You also could check the main Android Downloads folder, as that would be a logical place for them to be saved.

By the way, when I look at a saved image on my device in the Gallery app and tap Details, it shows me:
/SD card/Android/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/Download
So if you have a file viewer, you could check there.
I am using tor browser on android tablet, I don't think the images are downloading at all. Not in tor browser file , download file or even in images. Thanks for the help
Maybe they don't download at all.
I had the same problem with picture downloads with my tablet and phone.
You should go to about:config (just insert it into url/search bar) There will be a search field Insert browser.download.useDownloadDir and set it to true then it will save to the default Downloads directory of android Also look up browser.download.downloadDir and browser.download.dir (You maybe don't have those entries)
Then you can see the picture in Downloads via menu -> tools -> Downloads (or about:downloads )
Disclaimer, maybe they turned "save image" of for a reason and you could risk exposure if you are using TOR, I know nothing about TOR, ask someone there.
Maybe this helps for some documentation http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files#Reset_download_folder
Also about:config is a mess without good (inbuilt) documentation. They could use just plain text files instead. Or an inbuild interface with information what that input does.
It is like using functions you don't know in excel. You need to try it out and look them up. But it could mess with the whole browser, so only do stuff, if you don't lose anything if you deinstall and reinstall the browser (because of bad settings you forget you changed)
But about:config is still better than the settings of android firefox. It doesn't show me any option for Downloads. And I think it is more important for handheld devices because of limited disc space.
