How can I refresh Firefox when it won't open? The icon just bounces in my dock forever.

When I look on the support page it suggests that I "Refresh Firefox" but that page says that clicking the button won't work if I'm using a different browser, and then says "You can find a Refresh Firefox button at the top of the Firefox about:support Troubleshooting Information page", but I can't find it. Of course, I can't use Firefox or that menu button either.

FYI: The screenshots that I took to show you drop just fine in my mail, or pages, but won't drop here.

Hi betterthings, the forms here don't allow dropping images, but you can attach them using the Browse button below the form.

You can access a small dialog with the options of Refresh or starting in Firefox's Safe Mode if you hold down the option/alt key while starting Firefox (when clicking or double-clicking its icon, whichever is the way you do it on Mac).

Does that come up? If so, try the Safe Mode first. I'm sure it's prettier on Mac:

Try to do a clean reinstall and download the full version and trash the currently installed Firefox application.

Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the Disk Image file to the desktop Firefox 72.0.2:

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
