Using PCLinuxOS system with latest updated Firefox, print preview/simplify page does not work, nor for the last 3 or 4 updates, but it always used to - so what changed and what can I do about it?

Print Preview does not work and all that prints at the top of the page is the link address. Very frustrating. I have to go to Google or IE to print web articles.

This does not help because as a Linux user, IE is not an option to me - it cannot be installed - also the question I asked was not about print preview which seems to work fine, but the simplify page which does not. Print preview itself does not find the one page I want out of a 14 page print?? I need the simplify page.

Do you like print "mostly" text out of a page? Is this the reason for the simplified view firsthand? If you'd like to print only a selection of the page, you could use the following steps - cumbersome, but it works (tried it on Linux)

1) mark the "heading" of the part you will select later on (this will serve as the filename later on) 2) copy this to clipboard 3) scroll down to the end of part you like to select 4) holding down the mouse button beginning at the end of the (to be) selection scroll up 5) lift mousebutton at the beginning of selection 6) Press CTRL-P for printing dialog 7) In the printing dialog select "selection" 8) In the printing dialog select "print to file" 9) In the printing dialog select "filename" 10) In the file dialoge the cursor stays in the field for the name. Press CTRL-V to enter the previousely copied heading 11) In the file dialoge press OK/Use (in German its: Auswählen) 12) back in the printing dialoge select "Print"

I resolved my issue after trying a lot of fixes. I simply reinstalled Firefox and uninstalled the previous one. I was then able to access Print Preview and Print options with no problem. I think this issue was probably caused by one of Firefox' updates. Sorry my reply may not help your particular problem, but it may assist someone else.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing - it makes no difference. I am trying to print 1 or 2 pages out of maybe ten opened by print preview, because only those 1 or 2 have the text I want in them. The website I am on has many pages of icons, smilies and other components spread out over many pages either side, but this is only one site of many I have tried and had this problem on. Therefore I use simplify page only it does not work.

Sorry to hear uninstalling/reinstalling has not worked for you. Surprising more complaints re this have not surfaced. It never fails that updates cause glitches of some sort. The other thing that didn't work, in addition to to Print Preview/Print actions was that when I clicked on the Settings icon at the upper RH side of the Firefox screen and clicked on "Print," nothing happened and a completely blank screen appeared. It was very frustrating but now all seem to be working OK. Don't know how long that will last, however. It's really not helpful that Mozilla doesn't provide better help.
