My computer crashed and the OS had to be reinstalled. Bookmarks that I had saved for the last 6 to 8 months seemed to have disappeared. What messed up for me to have lost those bookmarks or how do I recover them? Thanks for your suggestions.

Reinstalling the operating system would probably be what caused the issue, since that removes a lot of files from the computer.

If you used the Windows reset tool instead of actually manually reformatting the computer, there may be a windows.old folder on the drive that you have installed Windows on. That may have your old bookmarks in it, but sometimes Windows doesn't keep program data in that case either.
