That is the expected situation for your version of MacOS, that your updating stops after version 78.15.0esr. Ref. Firefox Mac OS X 10.9, 10.10 and 10.11 users move to Extended Support Release.

I don't have any good suggestions for updating because I think the later installers won't run on your MacOS version.

And I'm not aware of whether you can get a free MacOS update for your system...
