Update to 95.0 Lost My Passwords
After Firefox updated to 95.0 all but the last 4 website passwords were gone. I had a recent backup of logins.json and key4.db. I copied the backup file into the profile folder and started Firefox. I went to Setting/Privacy and opened Saved Logins. They were all there....for about 3 seconds....and they started disappearing as I watched until only the last 4 were left. It looked like something was telling Firefox to delete my passwords.
I exited Firefox and put my laptop into Airplane mode...no internet. Copied the logins.json and Key4.db files back into the profile folder. I started Firefox and check and ALL OF MY saved passwords were there. I scrolled the list up and down and even checked a few by clicking on the "EYE". All of the passwords were there for all of my saved sites. I closed and re-opened Firefox once more to make sure and all were still there.
Then, with my Saved Passwords open, I took my laptop out of the Airplane mode and it connected to my wireless network.........and within seconds my passwords started disappearing one by one until only the last 4 were left. I'm stumped.

Hello,

I could not figure out how to turn off Sync altogether but I disabled the syncing of passwords, bookmarks, etc. individually and that fixed my problem. This was NOT caused by the update to Firefox 95.0 but was incidental to when updated so I thought the update caused it. The PROBLEM was another laptop that I had returned to the factory under MRA and had removed all of my passwords from Firefox and Edge and all of my emails and files before sending to the factory. When it came back repaired I guess as soon as I turned it on Firefox synced to the laptop with no passwords and thought it was the master or something. Anyway, I appreciate the Sync tip and turning off syncing passwords fixed my problem.
