I'm trying to download .package files (I'm a simmer) but instead of them saving to my folder like I have set in Preferences, it keeps opening in Sims 4 studio. It's apparently the "default" action even though I have it set to save. Please help!!

I solved it myself, I renamed my prefs file and restated firefox and shut it down then replaced my old prefs file.

I don't know whether this will work for you, but it worked for me the other day.

Open the Downloads list and right-click one of the files that auto-opened. Do you see a check mark for "Always Open Similar Files"? If so, click that to revert the behavior to "Save File".
