I have just installed Firefox for IOS to my MacBook Air running macOS Monterey version 12.3.1. I will not import my passwords & it will not save the ones I am entering when logging into sites even though it displays the "Save Password" message & I am checking save. I have also reviewed all the Firefox settings & save passwords is checked and active there. Any further thoughts?

/moved thread from Firefox for iOS (iPhone/iPad) to Firefox (desktop) section as you have macOS.

Hello robingruber2,

Firefox for iOS is mainly for use on iOS or iPadOS devices. Maybe you should install Firefox Desktop on your MacBook.

Please let us know if this helped you.

I did use this download process. How do I know what version of Foxfire is installed? The download file is labeled Foxfire 99.0.1.dmg. When I open the application it says Foxfire Browser, does a check & says it is up to date.

Hi Robin, When you say that Firefox will not import your passwords, does that mean you already have a sync account with passwords already stored there? If so, let's first make sure that you're signed in to your Firefox account. Click on the menu button at the right-end of the toolbar. If you're logged in to your Firefox account, the username will be visible at the top of the Firefox menu.

If it shows a "Sign In" button, you're not signed in. Can you tell us if it shows your username in the Firefox menu?

Yes - I am logged in.

Here is a video showing all the things I have tried to fix this problem with my passwords not importing/syncing or being able to save/enter manually to my Foxfire account.

You can possibly temporarily set signon.debug = true on the about:config page and check the Browser Console for login related messages. Do not forget to reset signon.debug when you are done testing.

If you still can't save a new login including via "Create New Login" in the Password Manager (about:logins) then rename/remove logins.json and key4.db in the Firefox profile folder to start with new files. Note that you need to set a new Primary Password when you remove the key file (key4.db).

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
