In a new version of Firefox (new within a couple of weeks) behavior has changed. If I click on a html-file in my pathfinder, then it always opens in a new window. Very unpractical. Earlier it opended in a new tab - in case of several browser-windows open it opened as a new tab in the window last touched. I suggest you set that back in a coming version. Can I - meanwhile - change it myself?

Best regards Steen Thomsen

You can look at the browser.link.open_newwindow prefs on the about:config page.

You can override how external links are opened via the browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external pref. If this pref has the default value -1 then browser.link.open_newwindow is used. The meaning of the value of browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external is the same as of browser.link.open_newwindow

  • browser.link.open_newwindow = 3 [1:current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab]

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. On the warning page, you can click "Accept the Risk and Continue" to open about:config.
