I love using gmail. But to prepare for the day when my Google storage is full, I'd like to migrate all the email in my gmail to the one-terabyte yahoo mail.

What's a free way to do this? (I'm on Linux Mint, if that makes a difference)

Can Thunderbird do this? How can thunderbird do this? Is there an easier way than using Thunderbird?

Google offer a free takeout service. This presents your mail information on MBOX format, per label if you choose. What you do with those I really do not know. You could put them in a Thunderbird local folder and slowly over a very extended time move a hundred of so at a time to a yahoo mail account. But seriously I think you need to consider an offline archive like a SSD drive. None of the "free" providers make what you are doing easy to upload and I really have to question the need for a old mail archive of some 10Gb online anyway. Whole companies only store that much archived email.
