I recently installed Firefox and I keep getting crash notices, even when it is not open/running...

I have verified this through the task manager...Nothing named Firefox or Mozilla is running...

I don't have this issue with either Brave or Chrome, and I have, and keep updated ESET software, so I KNOW this is a Firefox issue...

Unless this issue can be corrected, I will have no choice but to uninstall it, as I don't need software that crashes even when it is not being used...

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Great support...Been 8 days and nothing...

Tired of this issue occurring, what good is a browser if it crashes when it isn't even running/being used?

I'm DONE!

This looks like a problem with the Background Update Agent.

  • BackgroundTaskName : backgroundupdate

The BUA is controlled by these prefs in about:config that you can possibly disable.

  • app.update.background.enabled
  • app.update.background.scheduling.enabled

Just curious to know where did you get Firefox? Are you running pro or home version of Windows? If pro, you should have sandbox enabled for testing this very issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

I got it from the official Mozilla site...

I submitted the report as requested...

"They" should respond...I shouldn't have to search out remedies from other places...

Fix your shit, respond, or get out of the market!
