Suddenly Thunderbird will not send emails from one of my computers. Nothing in my configuration has changed. I compose an email, and when I click 'Send' nothing happens except that the menu bar and button strip at the top of the 'Write:' window turn gray.

I can receive emails with no problem. I have another computer with Thunderbird installed and the same accounts on it, and that PC is able to send without any problem. Today is the first day that I have noticed this issue.

When I then close the 'Write:' window I am asked if I want to save the email as a Draft.

Windows 10 Home Version 22HS Build 19045.5011 Thunderbird Version 128.3.3esr (64-bit)

Turns out it was the 'Cardbook' extension. Deleted it and the issue was resolved.

Exact same problem here.

I followed all the tips on this page to try and solve this very frustrating issue https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-messages (including deleted my email accounts and re-installing them; including uninstalling Thunderbird before installing it again). Nothing works. Sending email from my email provider accounts works like a charm, so there's not doubt the issue is wih Thunderbird and not related, at least in my situation, to SMTP issues. Thanks.
