Running laptop with WIN 7, I have changed the default program associated with file type for .mht files from Windows IE to Firefox. Now, when I attempt to open a .mht file on my hard disc, Firefox then proceeds to open seemingly countless instances of the file. I stop Firefox after about 10-15 instances before I use up all my (4Gb) memory.

I think Firefox requires an add-on to open MHT files intelligently.

Two pop up in a search on the Add-ons site:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/tag/MHT

Maybe that will help? Or if you have one of them, maybe try the other?
