It used to be that when I closed Firefox my downloads window would stay open. I liked this because I didn't have to be on line to open programs and/or files. Now it doesn't do this. Is there any way to make it do that again? I do not have the box checked for "close window after downloading".

In your reply, you were talking about closing Firefox while simultaneously performing a download. This is not what I meant. Specifically, I download statements and then want to use them AFTER I have closed out FF. Even though the statement shows in the download window, the download window has closed too as a result of closing the browser. It didn't used to be that way. Can you change it back? I want to close the browser, STILL have the download window open so I don't have to search for the file, and open the file. Thanks.

If you want the Download Manager to stay open after you close the Firefox Browser window then you can set the above mentioned pref to 2 to make Firefox ask what to do if you quit while a download is still pending. I don't know if that works if all downloads have finished. Using File > Exit can always force all windows to be closed, but should still give a prompt.
