Firefox is unable to open links

2 problems and I don't know if they are related. When I exit firefox, the program does not completely terminate. I have to manually then terminate the process in task manager. Happens 3 or 4 times a day. Also on numerous time very day firefox does not open links on the web page. I have tried deleting and reinstalling which works for a day or so and then the same problems reappear. Running windows 7.
