Note: Since I have first installed Firefox many many years ago, I never deleted my profile.

My problems are:

1. The search button is History is not working. Then I type something (like Google) all listed sites in history disappear as search returns no results. This problem is over one year old!

2. I cannot delete the "Older than 6 months" branch from my History. My History is several years old and probably I visited millions of web sites since then.

3. Recently the Address Bard failed also. It doesn't remember anymore the addresses I typed in. I used to type few character to quickly go to the desired web page (goo to go to www.google.com)

There may be a problem with the file that stores the history, for details on how to fix that see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite

No. That does not apply to me. That article shows how to fix the bookmarks (I don't have problems with my bookmarks) while paying the price of losing browsing history.

What's the point of losing something that is 90% working (it doesn't remember the new typed places but it remembers all places in the last few years up to the last week when the bug appeared) only to fix something that ain't broken?????

There must be something else.

That is the same solution that I posted :)

You are right. Only that you posted a link to an article that says to fix something else; not my problem (I don't have issues with the bookmarks).

So, yes, this fix is a middle ground.
