Firefox doesn't use the file extension to determine the action for downloads, it uses the MIME-type. If the MIME-type is incorrect or missing, Firefox defaults to asking the user.

hey, thanks for the quick replay, but im not that stupid :) my settings is set to open zip files with winzip, and i checked the "do this automatically". it doesnt work. thats the prob...
