This did not work at all. Every time I press the "+", the new tab opens Yahoo.com. Yahoo is not my home page.

I have the same problem. Tried to use the solution above, Did not work. If someone has a solution please help.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).

If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
