You can find that Sync symbol in the toolbar palette in the Customize window and that the icon on a toolbar.

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

Sorry. I failed. I found options on my gmail page but it did not lead me to create a sync account. I feel stuck again. thanks for trying anyway I might live without sync though I thought it might be useful.
