I was watching live hockey. Kept getting script error..googled it and was told to update shockwave Flash... went to Adobe and downloaded/installed Flash 11. Now FF7 says this is an invalid Flash version and it has been disabled...now I can't watch hockey or anything else that uses flash. The game works fine with Flash 11 in Internet Explorer 9, but nothing happens when I try to get the hockey game since FF7.01 has disabled flash 11. At least I can watch the game using IE9/Flash 11 no problem. SOLVED... Adobe servers were almost dead. It took three downloads of Flash before I finally got a non-corrupt download. Now everything works fine.

Do you have a 32 bit Flash version installed?

Flash 11 works on both 32 and 64 bit versions. I have 64. The problem is now solved ... it took three download tries until I finally got a non-corrupt version of Flash 11. Now everything works fine.

Ok, I have spent the last week trying to track down the reason for this error: Script: chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:136 No matter what I do, it still keeps coming up. I have gone through all the user forum suggestions, including disabling addons one at a time, and this thing still keeps coming up. I only started to get this on version 7.02 and it just won't go away...when it acts up, I get a ton of plugin containers come up in Task processes. This is really starting to get to me now. Will Firefox ever get this fixed? If not, I'm switching to another browser permanently .. enough is enough.

That can be caused by clearing the cookies via "Clear Recent History".

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
  • Firefox > History > Clear Recent History or Tools > Clear Recent History

If you use "Clear Recent History" to clear the cookies then Firefox also tries to clear the cookies from plugins like Flash (LSO) and starts a plugin-container process for each plugin and that can add extra time and can cause an unresponsive script error to appear.

Exclude the cookies from "Clear Recent History" to see if that helps.
Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox to remove unwanted cookies and keep the ones with an allow exception.
Make sure that you do not clear the "Site Preferences" as that will remove all exceptions.

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
