"Firefox can't find the server at www.hanovernh.org" Why not? Server OK
My Firefox seems to be having trouble with correct Internet Explorer 8 connections. I can Google Town of Hanover NH but when I click on one of four offerings under the Town of HanoverNH logo, I get the message "Firefox can't find the server at www.hanovernh.org". I can sometimes (not always) get around this by entering a specific administrator's name. From another computer, the server can be found and the town clerk has had no other complaints.

Hi lorcas- Does this issue happen every time you open Firefox and try to go to the link? I was not able to repro it when using Windows XP and Firefox 7.0.1. I Googled 'Town of HanoverNH' and then clicked several of the top links, and they all displayed. For example: http://www.hanovernh.org/Pages/HanoverNH_Recreation/index
The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

You can also try to reset the router.
I could not get into the site you offered in your response. Got the same message: "Server Not Found" etc. Problem still exactly the same.
I don't know how to do any of those things - router....resets.... Nothing was changed that I know of to cause the problem, though I suppose there could have been an automatic update I was unaware of. Is it possible that having Windows Live accessing Internet Explorer and Firefox accessing the same, the problem is that I am signed into the WL-IE and Firefox sees me as not signed in?
Perhaps I should be clearer. I clicked on your offered link, the one in blue that said " http//:www.hanovernh. (etc.) Your choice of giving me the link within the googled site was the perfect test. You were able to get into that site; I cannot. This is a site that 2 and 3 weeks ago I was able to contact. But starting about a week and a half ago, I couldn't. I tried Firefox Help but after filling out the appropriate page with the problem, there was a connectivity problem preventing Help from seeing it. I'll try more sites to get a broader picture of the problem. As of now, I know there are other "Server Not Found" sites. I'll look for a pattern.
