after weeks of normal use, suddenly my netpad has a very thin line down the center of the screen from top to bottom. it blocks out whatever it covers and when i'm watching movies there is just a white line down the center of the screen and no picture wherever the line is. the line is very thin, about the width of a pin,

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 and later Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
