I want to be able to see my list of bookmarks while I'm navigating the web. In IE, there is an arrow in the favorites column on the right; when clicked, the entire list of favorites moves to the left and stays open as you navigate. Is there a similar function is Firefox 8?

Superior! Excellent add-on, solved my problem and a few more I didn't know I had! I am new to Firefox and am just thrilled to find so many gifted and generous people building this alternative to corporate domination. I will make a donation from my next Social Security check--assuming the corporations don't end that program too.

All you have to do is change the Bookmark Icon in the tool bar from the one that creates a drop down list to the one that opens the sidebar. Do this from the Options/Toolbar/Layout menu. Use the one that does NOT have the little down arrow to the right of the star.

After that try out the Sidebar Bookmarks Search Plus extension. It helps you find something buried deep in a bookmark folder and most importantly shows you where it is in your bookmarks.

That was easy! (No relation to Staples.) Thank you very much.
