Is there any way that the settings can be set to prevent firefox from opening duplicate copies on the same desktop. Cheers.

with the tabbed browsing if a duplicate is opened and closed last the saved and protected tabs all lost when firefox re-starts. using tabbed browsing there is no need for more than 1 copy of firefox to be running. I would like to be able to prevent firefox from opening the duplicate copies. Cheers

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean.

Can you try to explain it with an example?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
