Using IE 8 and Firefox 14.0.1 on WIndows XP Pro. Import bookmarks from IE worked until recent update to Firefox. Exact update revision that caused problem unknown.

1. Delete the current imported bookmarks folder in Firefox to reset all bookmarks to none. 2. Use History>Show History>Import and Backup>Import Data from another Browser and follow dialogue to import all bookmarks from I.E. 3. Instead of importing all the bookmarks from I.E., only a portion of the bookmarks are imported. In this case, all folders from A through E are imported and nothing above. 4. I have reproduced this problem on three different workstations all running XP Pro.

Workaround: 1. Open I.E. and use the export options to export bookmarks to a file: ex: bookmarks.htm 2. Open Firefox and instead of importing from another browser, import the HTML file created in previous step. 3. All bookmarks from I.E. now appear in FIrefox.

You got it. That sometimes happens (example of past thread: Only 1/3rd of my bookmarks imported from IE. How do I move the rest?). Could be related to the number/depth of folders, but I'm not sure whether anyone has definitely identified the cause(s).

Thank you for the sanity check. Without the workaround I specified, this should be flagged as a major defect.
