Can you provide a link to the page that has this problem, and describe the steps to re-create it?

If your link opens an "FDF" or X-FDF" file to fill in a PDF form, that might create a problem of opening new tabs again and again. Please see this thread for more background on that problem and a workaround: when opening an fdf file Firefox goes into an infinite loop of opening new tabs. The only solution is to restart the machine.

Do you mean this?

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
