For about 10 days, booting up does not display Firefox. I am getting a MS screen with Bing. Help!!!!!!!!!

I have a Leveno PC relatively new. Windows 7 was pre-installed. I set the PC to open in Firefox, which it has done up until about the time of the last Windows automatic updates of 7/6/13. Since then I get a MS screen using Bing as its search engine.

I have to open Firefox screens one at a time for g-mail, calender etc. 7/6/13 is also my first restore point, and I am reluctant to use a previous date.

Normally, when Windows starts up, you see the desktop without any web browser launching.

You can get a web browser to launch at startup by placing a shortcut in the Startup folder, either a program shortcut (shows your home page) or a web page shortcut (opens that page in your "default" browser).

Perhaps IE is now your default browser? You can switch it using the method described in this article: Make Firefox your default browser. (Note: the bottom two checkboxes in the first picture have moved to the "Data Choices" tab.)

Does that help?
