I can't find the set up sync button
I know this is stupid but I can't find the set up sync button. I want to transfer the bookmarks from my old PC and have read how to do it but when I click on the orange Firefox button top left of my screen the only option appears to be sync now. Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks Joe

See: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
- Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden "Menu Bar" temporarily.
You get the orange Firefox menu button when the menu bar is hidden.
- Firefox menu button > Options
- View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
- Right-click empty toolbar area

If you see sync now then this means that Sync is already installed on that computer and working.

Did you create a new sync account or used the previously used email and password and sync key?
Note that sync isn't supposed to be used as a means of transferring data from one computer to another, so you need to be careful with not overwriting data stored on the Sync server.
Check the Sync options when you have used Sync before and want to keep previously stored data on the Sync server.
- click the "Sync Options" button at the bottom to select what to sync (Sync Options only affect the first sync)
Select this choice if you want to restore data from the Sync server:
- "Replace all data on this device with my Sync data"
You can also copy files to an USB stick to transfer them to another computer.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
Have you already set up sync and have you got both of the pcs still actively running Firefox ?
There are alternative methods of tranfering bookmarks if necessary
And some of the sync articles, do any of these help

Hi john99
I have Firefox running on both pcs but now that I look at the old one there are a couple of problems. There is no 'display all bookmarks' icon at the top right of the screen and also no Firerfox orange icon at the top left. Could you help me find these two.
I've read thro the 'restore bookmarks from another computer and I think that will do the trick once I can find the appropriate icons on the old pc.
Many thanks
Joe

Thanks to all for your help and the problem is now resolved and all bookmarks off my old pc are now on my new one. Thanks again. Joe
Glad it is fixed, and thanks for posting back.
Note bookmarks may also be seen in a bookmarks sidebar and that has a keyboard shortcut of Ctrl + B. The bookmarks Library in Windows may be seen using the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl Shift + B
