Some of my bookmarks (a few) have an icon next to the name, others have a blank square box. All of my bookmarked websites have icons. I want the icons more than the website name but don't seem to be able to get them. I added a maintenance 'add on' from Firefox as was suggested. The icons did not populate after restarting Firefox.............................??

Open a bookmark without an icon.

Does the tab at the top look like tab 1 or tab 2 from the posted picture?

Do you see a favicon on the tab bar when you visit a web page that doesn't have a favicon in the bookmark?

When you click on a bookmark that has a blank box instead of an icon, does the icon then appear on the bookmark.

Older Firefox versions used to show the favicon on the left hand side of the location bar, but current releases show the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location bar and you only see the favicon on each tab on the tab bar.

You should also see the favicon in the history (e.g. history sidebar; Ctrl+H).

After trying some different approaches I am now able to go to a website and in most cases the website comes up with the icon next to the name. I simply save it to my bookmarks toolbar and all is well. If it was in my bookmark menu, it now has an icon next to it also.

Thanks for your help, Nedwig
