I have installed fresh Linux Mint Debian Edition with MATE environment. Than I downloaded latest Firefox from Mozilla site and installed it. But it is too slow. It has some delay before it starts to download page. Tab title is "connecting..." for long time. But after I open site I can move quickly to it's other pages by clicking to links and so on. So it only happens when I'm connecting to that site for first time after starting Firefox. For example if I want to open youtube I must wait for long, but than I can move quickly to different videos. But after I start Firefox again I must wait again.

I disabled proxies in firefox and enabled pipelining, but no effect. I tried restarting firefox, and disabling hardware acceleration. I tried these steps also: http://tutzone.org/increase-firefox-speed-by-10-30x/

It seems that problem is about connecting to server.

Firefox that came with system ( 21, I think ) was pretty fast.

My suggestion is to reset all the pref values that you changed back to the default values and see of that helps with your problem.
