after my firefox browser updated itself to version 25.0, the CTRL+F seems be completely gone. i use it all the time to search for text in the page (recently also with the "Find Toolbar Tweaks" extension) and now after the said update when i press CTRL+F (or hitting edit--->find) simply nothing happens. as if i did not press anything. i checked my add-ons list and they're all seemingly in order. also, any other ctrl+whatever seems to work fine except this one. so, any idea why this might happen? and how to bring back my beloved CTRL+F?

thank you for replying. i started in safe mode but since i had no idea what there is supposed to tell me which extension is causing the problem, i've decided to reset firefox and it seems to take care of it.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
