Firefox crashes
My Firefox constantly crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, run spyware on it, etc. Everything that has been suggested to do. This is very frustrating for whomever is using Firefox because it is constantly crashing!

I assume that you can't update your old graphics display driver from 2005?
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.
- You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open the crash reports page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".
See:
bp-bb827d6c-4f6f-4d84-929b-7a3a52131130
that is the most recent crash report as of 4 minutes ago. I have disabled the option you suggested, now to just wait and see if that helped. And no, I cannot update my driver anymore then what it currently is, unfortunately.
Didn't work, crashed again. =/
Does it help if you start Firefox in Safe Mode?
You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:
- On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
- On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
- all extensions are disabled
- default theme is used (no persona)
- userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored
- default toolbar layout is used (localstore-safe.rdf)
- Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (javascript.options.*jit)
- hardware acceleration is disabled
- plugins are not affected
- preferences are not affected
