As my question states I don't want auto loading on any site and it only happens on this one site. I have went thru tools and options and there are no sites listed for auto loading. There are no saved passwords. If I go to the site using Internet explorer the problem does not occur.

Hi again, I have solved the problem. I first reinstalled Firefox but that didn't do it so I reset Firefox and that did clear out the auto fill in. Now will have to reinstall extensions, etc. but I am happy, thanks for spending the time.

Hello,

Try this, go to Menu Bar, click on HIstory, Clean Navigation Data.

Thanks

Hi, Under history, I do not have a "clean navigation data" to click on.

more options
  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Maybe I am being a dummy on this computer but I don't find the items "time range to clear", or "details" so couldn't follow your instructions very well. Did use the Firefox article to clear the cache. { I do not save History so there was none to clear} Still have auto fill with the one site only. Thanks for trying to help.

Well, some progress, I changed the privacy setting to remember history and was then able to follow your instructions, but still have the problem we set out to solve.

Have been away from computer a while. I checked again for saved passwords and there are none.I had talked to the people at the problem site .and they do not save passwords for auto fill in. I suppose there is an answer but it is being quite elusive. You are probably getting tired of me by now.

No i'm not tired, i ' m curios to know what is the cause of this problem,

Try go to about:config page and search for this option "signon.autofillForms" and change its value to false.

went to about:config page and found ulr bar for auto fill but did not see a "sign on auto fill" choice. Even if I did I don't know how to change it from true to false. Another bit of info---- I just registered to this Mozilla help site today and I see that my user name and password are now being filled in for me on it. Such fun.

in the localization bar paste this string :

signon.autofillForms

Problem not solved yet. I have had enough of sitting at this computer desk for today. Need to get on the treadmill for awhile. Will mess with later. Thank you for all your help.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page that doesn't require authentication (signing on)?

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

One more attempt,

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
  2. Under the Application Basics section, click on Show Folder. A window with your profile files will open.
