Thunderbird keeps defaulting to use the wrong printer. How do i fix this?
My default printer for all programs should be a Canon printer. Thunderbird keeps defaulting to an Adobe PDF printer. I can change it to the correct printer when the print dialog comes up, but it is annoying to have to do it every time. I don't know what changed so the default in thunderbird is adobe.

Here's an easy solution that worked for me.
I'm using Windows 7 and have two HP printers installed. I don't know whether this works for the Adobe PDF printer; Thunderbird has never defaulted to that for me.
In Control Panel, look for Hardware & Sound. Under that heading, click on View devices and printers.
Open (double-click) the printer you want to disable in Thunderbird.
Double-click on Customize your printer.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Choose Available from, and then choose a time when you don't typically print email (I chose 12am to 1am). I did not change the Priority setting.
Click Apply and then OK.
That should do it. I shut down and rebooted, and in Thunderbird the printer default is now the one I want.

Hello Snicklefritz, try to reset the print_printer in Config Editor, and check it again.
we have a re-opened bug : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429943
thank you
Thanks so much, that worked!
Please fix this bug since others use my computer and do not remember to change to my new HP 4500! I do not know about config, etc. RobAnn
After deleting the old HP 5900 printer last evening, it returned this morning. I deleted it through Control Panel. I do not see it in the software section of Control Panel. Where else should I delete it?
