I keep getting a message about video player update. What's going on? Why do I need this? Prove that I do - too many viruses out there to just download something
A page keeps popping up saying FIREFOX wants me to download this video player. I'm leery of downloading anything these days with the Heartbleed virus out there

If you get a pop-up message asking to update or install other software then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
You should only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
