Unable to delete PalMall by BND from Add-ons, Extensions
I have in the Add-ons, Extensions, PalMall by BND which I am able to disable, on my Mac using Mavericks.
I would feel much more secure if I could delete this.
I have removed and reinstalled Firefox, without solving.
I reinstalled Mavericks, without solution, as it remains in Firefox.

I found where it was hiding on my mac. In your finder, drop down the link under the go tab. Click on home, then click the application support tab, go down to mozilla, open that tab and then to extensions. You should see that long line: (82259bd1-59d6-4bfd-957a-f23f4b1bed07@e0b3f89b-48e3-4951-a874-71bcd3c7115e.com) mentioned above. I deleted mine and it was finally gone. Be sure to empty the trash and run a hard clean cache. I also did the first part via firefox as well mentioned above. It is finally gone. I hope this helps.
Thank you everyone!

hi assonet,
maybe you should refer to this howto here to see how to manually uninstall the extension.
Keep me informed.

In the Extensions of Firefox, PalMall is disabled.
Normally, there is an option to delete an extension. And, a healthy version of Firefox does not have PalMall at all, disabled or otherwise.
I have gone to help, troubleshooting, and resetting, repeatedly. Not solved.
I have deleted and reinstalled, not solved.
I have reinstalled Mavericks, not solved.
I have read that most, if not all spamware will not detect this. I have installed and scanned and it was unable to detect. When this program is active it is very nasty dropping in ads every few seconds and sets up a search under the name Trovi.
Did you look at your installed programs list to see if there are some unfamiliar or suspicious programs ? And did you also look at the "manual uninstall" section in the howto to see if there is palmall folder in the extensions' folder in the user profile folder of firefox ?
I'm sorry i do my best but i'm not familiar with MAC. :)
Yes, to both.
Did you try any of the programs listed on this page here. The website's rate is good, so i think can be trusted.
I'm sorry but i can't help you anymore.
Keep me up-to-date if you manage to solve this problem.

Some add-ons act like plugins because the program finds those in the computer. That is why there is no remove button. You should still be able to disable it. If you want to remove it, you have to do so from the computers control panel. Sometimes, you have to remove another program to do so.
FredMcD - - - Exactly - my research revealed the same. Mac's operating system is a little different than Windows - - - thus merely apps with no control panel, and no registry to be infected. I have this thing disabled, and that is a blessing.
But the nasty little culprint hanging out somewhere inside my computer is something I'd like to attack: delete and remove!
I have explored all my apps and nothing revealed. I've looked inside at code of Firefox: no luck.
The remaining question - - - where do I find this culprit to heave it out.
Sooner or later I suspect someone else will have the same and may figure this out and share.
And, Fred McD - - - thanks for contributing.
And, to romsdu81 - - - thank you, too.
no problem, however i've not been very helpful. :)
I had the same problem and I've managed to delete the Palmall extension.
The name of the file you want to delete is: 82259bd1-59d6-4bfd-957a-f23f4b1bed07@e0b3f89b-48e3-4951-a874-71bcd3c7115e.com
However there are TWO places where you must delete the files, just deleting one file won't work.
The first one is found under the Firefox file -> extension folder and the other in the Mozilla --> extension folder
To delete the extension basically follow steps 1, 2 and 3 of the Uninstalling manually guide here. This should automatically take you to the following folders: Firefox -- Profiles -- emc35kcn.default --
Click on the extensions folder and delete the file: 82259bd1-59d6-4bfd-957a-f23f4b1bed07@e0b3f89b-48e3-4951-a874-71bcd3c7115e.com Empty trash
To find the Mozilla folder, just go back a couple folders until you locate the Firefox folder and scroll down to the Mozilla folder.
Mozilla will have one folder extensions delete the same file: 82259bd1-59d6-4bfd-957a-f23f4b1bed07@e0b3f89b-48e3-4951-a874-71bcd3c7115e.com Empty trash.
Quit Firefox and reopen and check the ad-ons under Tools to see if the extension is gone.

This is promising that you were able to delete it from extensions.
So far, for me, it is still there. I suspect that your deletion was using the Mac version????
It seems quite stubborn here.
This is the picture in Extensions
Unfortunately, it is still there. Disabled.
I can not locate the "emc35kcn.default" under profiles, or anywhere, thus I can not locate the extension file: "82259bd1-59d6-4bfd-957a-f23f4b1bed07@e0b3f89b-48e3-4951-a874-71bcd3c7115e.com" to delete.
As you can see from the picture above I can locate within the app the email address of the vandal.
There are programs which claim to be able to locate and eridicate spamware and adware, but no luck with that. Several I have used can not locate, and several others are bogus, meaning they are bait loaded with more adware - - - Amazon, for one. That was removed by reinstalling the operating system Mavericks. I am a customer on occasion of Amazon, and have known Jeff Bezos to be a pretty smart guy, but that is almost as dumb as one can get to attract business by contaminating my computer so that I see his ad every 15 seconds. The trick here is that there are free "toolbars" and things like that that want to accompany these programs, and one most nasty one called Trovi, which is eliminated at best, or at worst is in remission behind the disabled PalMall stubborn extension.
I have tried without success all kinds of searches and viewed all the programs and apps, and, too, there is no registry in a Mac or control panel. Somewhere, someplace the words PalMall have to exist for it to show in the extensions.
All the help is tremendously appreciated.
I'm looking forward to being able to post "solved the problem."
In the meantime, thanks.
