cant get rid of the default-search.net , no matter what i do it comes back

Try typing "about:support" in a new firefox tab and press enter. On the page that you receive, click on "Reset Firefox."

Reply if this has not corrected your problem.

tryed that all ready , but tryed it again and still get http://www.default-search.net/?sid=492&aid=296&itype=n&ver=13892&tm=501&src=hmp as my home page

Your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there. You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

i did everything and deleted any programs i didn't know followed info and it works right for a bit then it's back kaspersky doesn't find anything deleted user.js file made the changes but keep coming back no matter what i do even completely deleted users had bookmarks backed up really at a loss on this one
