Why is my address bar is gray after ubuntu 12.04 update?
Performed update/upgrade on Ubuntu 12.04. Now my address bar is gray and black and I can't see what I type.

Please post a picture, so others will actually be able to know what you're talking about.
Sounds like a problem with your fonts/locale in Ubuntu, though.
You can try to toggle the gfx.xrender.enabled pref to false on the about:config page.
