After installing the latest Windows 8.1 upgrade When using Firefox Nightly 39a for a few minutes it would stop responding The mouse pointer would move but nothing else worked Powered off machine started it again When using Firefox the same problem occurred within a few minutes Restored system to prior windows upgrade uninstalled Firefox 39a including those files in AppData installed Firefox 31 Installed Windows upgrade again got the same problem Restored system then installed each of the upgrades (37 of them) one at a time and found that the upgrade for Internet Explorer 11 caused the problem This problem did not occur if Firefox was not started

It sounds as though you can get the two security-related fixes separately and defer reinstallation of the rest of this patch. At least, I hope that's what it's saying.
