Why do I get the error message "server has disconnected...the server may be down or there may be a network problem"
I'm not able to receive any emails. I get the message that the server has disconnected...the server may be down or there may be a network problem. I am able to access the internet & other programs it's just Thunderbird that isn't working. I've checked the settings but don't know what the settings should be. It's currently set at Imap. with Port 143; I have no idea if that's what it should be.

Your email provider would know the settings for their server. They configured it. Maybe you should contact them.
I am having this problem since 11.11.2015 it is now 13.11.2015. Should I change my email provider, go for gmail or virgin media?
