How do i disable images? This used to be so easy in many browsers. A simple click but the updates and versions have either hidden this feature or removed it.
None of the search results are working or correct. A simple feature of yesteryear is hidden away or removed. Id like text only browsing for many reasons. usually what would happen is the jpg/gif/bmp would not load but the box screen size would have a small 'x' indicating that it was blocked from loading.

There are some add-ons which avoid the need to keep going into about:config -- you can turn images loading on and off from a toolbar button.
For example: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quickjava/ (images are one of its many buttons).
Does that do what you need?
