Help! Last week "94%" showed up at the bottom of my Thunderbird inbox - i guessed that meant i'd used 94% of the space Thunderbird allocates, so i deleted many thousands of emails, sometimes thousands in a single day. The highest number was over 70,000 in my "in box." I emptied my trash (for the first time) and deleted some emails from "archived" and "important" folders - don't know what this "important folder" means, but that's not my most critical question. After deleting all those emails i'm down to 63,000 in my "in box" and i regularly empty my trash, however, now i'm at 96% and i don't know what to do. I'd like to keep all the emails relevant to a subject i'm working on and so deleting all those emails was just a temporary fix, anyway.

Any suggestions?

If anyone replies, will i receive it via my email address?

The quota is the amount of space your mail provider allows on their mail server for your emails. So basically you need to either move some mails to local folders in Thunderbird to free space, or speak with the mail provider about additional space. This usually comes wit an additional cost.

Gmail: They keep all emails, sent and received, like an archive in the 'All Mail' folder and apply labels so you can see them in the various folders.

Deleting does not necessarilly mean they have been deleted from the 'All Mail' folder. By default, when you delete a Gmail message using an email client, Gmail will archive the message, moving it to the 'All Mail' folder. As you were at 94%, then 'deleted' emails but are now at 96%, I suspect those emails have not been properly deleted.
