After new install of Win10 and T-Bird, how do you break folder permissions between T-Bird and online Webmail?

Installed Win10, then T-Bird. T-Bird connected to current online email from my web provider (Cablelynx), called WebMail, and automatically synced up with my account. T-Bird functions normally, but now all folder actions are synced between the two, and there is no control to stop one from affecting the other. This results in inability to download and clear online account like it did before, and if I delete anywhere it deletes both online and locally in T-Bird, whether or not either program is running! This loses all my email! Tried to change settings on both programs, but I am not allowed because of the other programs permission settings. HELP! How do I break these two apart like they were before? Thanks!

I guess you are discovering the differences between using POP and IMAP email protocols. You might want to do some research on how these two operate and decide what is best for you.
