Everyday downloads of more than 3 GB from download.cdn.mozilla.net. Consuming lot of bandwidth. Is it geniune? How to stop?

Does Firefox takes daily updates of 3GB approximately? This consuming my bandwidth.

This lists what Firefox normally tries to do automatically

I see no reason anything approaching 3GB a day would be downloaded from Mozilla.

Possibly something is going wrong with the updating & maybe Firefox is repeatedly restarting. This old article explains how to clear incomplete updates. That may solve the problem.
