How do I prevent tabs from refreshing when restarting Firefox?
Hello, I apologise if this question is already answered; I could not find it in the database.
How do I prevent Firefox from automatically refreshing tabs upon starting a new session? Whenever I load Firefox, the tabs from my previous sessions automatically refresh when I navigate to them, I would like to disable this function. I would prefer the tabs to simply load from the cache as if Firefox were in offline mode.
Thank you.

You could pin the tabs. I do not think pinned tabs automatically reload. You are obviously aware Firefox may be used in offline mode.
Sounds like you wish for more than just having only the displayed tabs reload.
If you want all the tabs not to reload then use about:config to set the pref browser.cache.check_doc_frequency to 3 2
Does that help
See
- Pinned Tabs - keep favorite websites open and just a click away
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config
Edit, oops 3 is the default value Check for a new version when the page is out of date. (Default) 2 is Never check for a new version - always load the page from cache.

Thank you for your research and your reply!
My browser.cache.check_doc_frequency was already set to 3. After checking the link you provided, I tried changing it to 2 and restarted Firefox but that didn't seem to change anything. Both browser.cache.disk.enable and browser.cache.memory.enable are set to true. I will try pinning my tabs as you suggested, but if you or anyone else has any other advise, I would appreciate it.

Are you clearing the cache when you close Firefox ("Clear history when Firefox closes")?
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:
- Edit > Preferences > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
