Since recent update, Insert function does not work, when attach to email is not selected, I don't want to attach I want to insert
Here is the problem that appeared since the recent TB update a few days ago: When trying to insert an image the popup asks want to attach this file to email? 1. when I unclick this option (because I want to insert it), the image appears in the email body, but when I send it the image does not arrive at the destination nor in the Sent folder, only an empty frame gets there (?). 2. when I leave the want to attach file selected then the file appears as before in the email body, but when I send it then an empty frame appears at the destination (or Sent Folder) with an empty frame in the body followed by the image on a separate page (?). That means, one cannot send pictures inserted in the text with legends and other explanations
Questions: Why is there an option: Do you want to attach this file to the email when I am in the Insert mode?
(If I want to attach something, I go to the Attach mode, I would think?)
I have used the insert mode for since I began using TB (almost a decade ago) and it always worked perfectly. This feature even survived the upgrade to Win 10. It worked. The recent Update or Upgrade, whatever it was, is highly suspect. These workarounds don't cut it, one of the best and handiest features has been lost. A fix (a patch) is definitely needed.

We're talking about images, yes?
If you want a picture to appear in an email message you have three choices.
- Send it as an attachment
- Embed it into the email so it shows inline with your text
- Send a link to an image file hosted on a suitable server.
Clearly, you're not interested in (1).
Both (2) and (3) are supported by the Insert|Image menu option. Unless you have gone out of your way to set up and operate an Internet-facing server to host your images, (3) isn't really suitable for most users. But a business using email to promote a website would prefer to link back to their site to reduce bandwidth and encourage users to visit their site.
Another way to go about this is to drag and drop an image into place, or copy and paste. This is effectively the same as (2), with the image data being automatically encoded into your email message. If you double-click an image that was inserted in this way, you'll be shown the same properties dialog that you'd have seen when using Image|Insert.
To summarise, the default and appropriate action, most of the time, is to tick the "attach this image file" box. If you don't tick this, the onus is on you to make the image available to your correspondent in some other way.
Having said that, I don't often send images and i haven't done so since updating to TB 45. I'll check it out later today and see if I can replicate your issue.
Well, I posted myself an image that was inserted into a message using Insert|Image and all seemed good. Both Sent and Inbox copies initially showed the image.
However, on revisiting the received message later in the day, I saw what you reported; an empty box where the picture should be. Inspection of the message source indicated that the image was still there but not being displayed for some unknown reason.
I recovered the image by repairing the folder. Select the folder, right-click, select Properties then Repair Folder.
