Can't send mails after update to Thunderbird 45.1

Goodday Support Team,

After updating Thunderbird from version 45.0 to 45.1 I can't send mails any longer. Receiving mails is no problem and Lightning is also working fine. I have the same problem after updating on 4 pc's !! I have googled around and read your questionary but couldn't find the right answer. After that I have installed version 45.0 again after cleaning the redistry, same: I couldn't send mails. I have tried the old and new version after clean installation with and without virusscanner and firewall: same result, impossible to send mails. The box "are you sure to send this mail" pops up when you click send, the box dissapears but the mail is not send and stay on the screen. (see attachment). I have also a laptop with version 38.5 which still works fine. I compared all account settings with the other pc's and this is exactly the same. My light is going slowly out now and I won't go back to Outlook!! I really hope that you can give me a solution for this problem, thanks in advance.

Hello All, Problem is solved, it was an extension. First I have disabled all extensions, after that no problem. Then the most logic bogey was for me the extension "Check and Send" . That was true, all other extensions are working fine. What I don't understand is when I started Windows and Thunderbird in safe mode (on 2 pc's) that the extension most probably was not disabled. However I'm happy with the result and thanks all for your quick reactions and suggestions. Regards Rolf

Thanks for a quick reactionOn all pc's Avira freeware version and Windows firewall. This I have for years and worked fine. But even when I turn them off both the result is the same: receiving mails ok, sending mails impossible.

Hi Christ,

Unfortunately it is the same problem in safe mode on all pc's. I don't understand it because i saw on internet that I'm not the only one with the same problem. I updated the first pc 1 or 1½ week ago then this happened, the second I updated today and my wife had the same on het laptop and pc. Everytime after the update we couldn't send mails. So I have only an old slow laptop with windows xp and thunderbird 38.5 where we have to send our mails.

What's odd is that you do get that box in the first place. Any idea where this comes from? Something related to 'Send later'? Is it a setting you deliberately made? If it's caused by an add-on, safe mode should have eliminated that possibility.

Christ, that box is always popping up. It says "are you sure you want to sent this mail ?" then you click ok and another box is popping up and telling me : "your mail is send" then the box and mail are disappering. I had that with all my thunderbirds till now. I have windows 7 and Thunderbird Dutch version. This never gave problems. Regards, Rolf

Zenos asked me to mail the file, I get the following message: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

    no-reply@mozilla.org

Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the relay mailman1.scl3.mozilla.com [63.245.214.180].

The error that the other server returned was: 550 5.1.1 <no-reply@mozilla.org>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table
